Well, I'll defer to Jacksn on the origins (which I didn't actually know) but it's quite a common saying in the UK.

In case phillipj doesn't get back on this, I'm almost certain a "storm in a teacup" refers to the "Boston Tea Party". A significant event in both UK & USA history which basically means a big hooha about something not very important. The best thing about this quiz is we've all learned something about Channel Islands..

Love :"storm in a teacup" where did you get that expression Phillip?
  • PhilipJ said on 29-Mar-2011, 6 years ago
Bit of a storm in a teacup here I feel. I'd never heard of the Californian Channel Islands tbh. Thanks for the quiz.

No worries, yenmelley it'll take more than that to cause an international incident. Obviously a good quiz, just look at all the comments you got.

Thanks for taking the test. I apologize to the Brits I've offended as they have there own Channel Islands.
  • yenmelley said on 28-Mar-2011, 6 years ago
Large Fries you are correct, did not know UK had its own Channel.
  • feline123 said on 28-Mar-2011, 6 years ago
I didn't rate it either, just noticed a dodgy question.
  • jacksnharvey said on 28-Mar-2011, 6 years ago
I didn't rarte it 2, honest. In fact, I forgot to rate it. No disrespect intended.
  • Large_Fries said on 28-Mar-2011, 6 years ago
To be fair, yen has probably never heard of the UK Channel Islands and has made an innocent mistake. Rating it a 2 is a bit harsh. Anyway, thanks for the quiz, yen.
  • feline123 said on 28-Mar-2011, 6 years ago
Yes, but including a few lucky guesses.
  • jacksnharvey said on 28-Mar-2011, 6 years ago
Great minds think alike. At least you scored more than me.
  • feline123 said on 28-Mar-2011, 6 years ago
I was just about to post exactly the same comment, 2Mogs!

Since when were the Channel Islands in the Pacific? If you mean the Californian Channel Islands, you should say so
