Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole has shown her X Factor contestants exactly how it’s done, by achieving a number one single and album this week.

The X Factor judge got her double chart success yesterday when it was annouced that her album 3 Words had gone straight in to number one, and her single Fight For This Love held on to the number once spot in the singles chart for a second week.

The Official UK Charts Company said it was a “fabulous achievement” for Cole.

Spokesman Martin Talbot said: “3 Words now looks set to be one of the biggest albums of this coming Christmas.”

Cheryl Cole held onto number one in the singles chart despite new entries from Westlife – who reached number two with What About Now – and Jay Sean. To reach the top of the album chart she knocked off last year’s X Factor winner Alexandra Burke, and beat Michael Jackson.
