Scrabble, the hugely popular boardgame looks like it is set to become a TV gameshow after ITV today signed a major deal.

ITV Studios are now planning an international format for a TV show with toy and game makers Mattel.

Mattel are also well known for making and marketing board games such as drawing game Pictionary and card game Uno.

ITV was the first channel to broadcast Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, which sold to 100 countries around the world and became one of the biggest formats in history, but it was created by the production company Celador, not ITV.

Mattel launched Scrabble on Facebook in 2008 after the makers of a earlier version called Scrabulous were forced to change its name.

Here at Triviala, we prefer our own fun word game, Coin A Word.

What do you reckon Triviala players? Would you watch?
