We’ve been working on our user-generated quizzes section of the site, and we’ve made it a lot easier to use – there’s now a search facility so you can find quizzes on topics you want to answer – and before submitting a quiz to us, you can check out others on the same subject.
Additionally, you can now comment on others’ quizzes and have them comment on yours. We’re still offering 40 crowns for every admin-approved quiz (max 4 per month per user), and now you don’t even have to write quizzes to earn extra crowns- you can earn 1 crown just for playing each quiz. This works for every user-generated quiz on the site (and we currently have over 1000), so there’s potentially hundreds of extra crowns out there for you to earn. Just to note though, each quiz will only give you a crown the first time you play it.
We’ve been getting a lot of comments on our User Support board about our Coin-A-Word game: it seems like a lot of you are enjoying this game – but we’ve had some more negative comments too. We’re currently developing an improved version of the game with improved dictionnaries. Please be patient while we work on this- it’s coming as fast as we can get it out to you!
Good luck!

As you can see from these press clippings today, 17th June 09, Triviala’s been mentioned in the papers again. This time, we commissioned a poll to determine how acceptable people find all kinds of cheating (from cheating in an exam, to cheating at boardgames, to cheating on a partner). Here’s what the papers had to say about our findings:

As you will all have seen recently, we’ve been launching a variety of new games, the latest being the fast-paced elimination game Faceoff, which went live last night. As with Quizmania, it’s a multiplayer game- but it’s slightly more competitive! Firstly, up to eight players can compete in any one game. It’s got a 70s-style disco theme and allows players to “bet” tokens. Each player is allocated tokens at the beginning of a game, and needs to make sure that they have placed a token on the correct answer in each round- or they’ll be eliminated. There are 4 options for each question, and you can bet on as many of the options as you like- tokens permitting. If you get the answer right, you get a token back. Any round in which you don’t “bet” on the right answer means you’re instantly eliminated. The last player standing is the winner.
At the moment, all of our competitive games are just for fun. But keep watching- we’re planning on adding new versions. You’ll soon be able to place “bets” with your Triviala crowns, with the chance of winning the other players’ stakes. We’re planning on keeping the “for fun” version running too, so it will be completely up to you how you want to play.
Finally…we’re planning another Double Crowns Day in celebration of our new game launches. Play on Triviala tomorrow and earn DOUBLE crowns for everything. So that’s potentially 20 crowns for the Jackpot question, 80 crowns per approved quiz, 20 crowns for uploading a profile photo (subject to approval- it’s got to be a close-up photo of you, or it doesn’t count!), as well as double crowns for inviting friends and correctly answering the Triviala questions. Don’t forget to submit individual questions either, and earn 6 crowns per approval.
Good luck!

Adding to the recent improvements and additions to Triviala, last night we launched a new game, Coin A Word. Just like the word games you used to play as a child, you’re given a random selection of letters & you have to make as many words from them as you can. Our version works like this: you’re given 3 minutes, and all words have to be between 3-6 letters long. You’ve got 2 modes to choose from, Normal or Pro, and in either you have to make 5 words before you can have new letters. To add an extra element of competition to the game, you’ll notice that some letters are brightly coloured. Use these letters first in a word and a letter in the word TRIVIALA will light up. If you spell TRIVIALA within your 3 minutes, you’ll be awarded 40 crowns.
Both of our new games are already proving popular- and we’re already working on others to bring out in the next few weeks…

Just today we’ve launched a brand new game: Quizmania.
It’s Triviala’s first multiplayer game, and a chance to go head-to-head in realtime against other players. It’s easy to play: go to the Quizmania page, enter the lobby, and games will be awaiting players. Either join others already there, or start a new game and wait for others to join you. The games can be between 2-4 players and you’ll each have to answer the same 15 questions, with faster answers gaining more points.
Just to note, though, that this game is still being worked on and tweaked by our technical team- so if there are any errors or bugs you see, let us know and we’ll try to work them out as soon as we can.
Also congratulations to Libraguy, today’s winner of the £500 Jackpot.

We’ve got some fantastic news for the site.
Celebrity Pedigree has been a massive international success, with 2.7 million games played since it launched in March. May alone saw 1.1million games played, with each player averaging 12.3 minutes of gametime.
We’re working on more games, and looking to launch one very shortly. Please keep your opinions coming on our site survey, and search “Triviala” to become a fan of ours on Facebook…
