Shame about the wind and rain…but more excuses to stay in and play Triviala all weekend right?!

Ex Hearsay member and 2008 Dancing on Ice winner Suzanne Shaw will be propping herself up against ‘The Woolpack’ bar in the dales as she makes her debut in Emmerdale next month.

It seems Shaw is following in the footsteps of ex bandmate Kym Marsh who appears in ITV’s most popular soap Coronation Street. Life after flop band Hearsay isn’t too bad after all!

The petite blonde will be playing the promiscuous grand daughter Eve of veteran Emmerdale star, Edna Birch and will sure be causing some trouble in the countryside. Shaw says: “My character is outrageous with guys. She’s the one who chats them up, so it’s going to be fun to play her!”

Suzanne has revealed her worries about her weight and size before going on the show. Whilst she was pregnant with 5 year old Corey, her son from famous love rat Darren Day, she has said she found it difficult to shift her baby weight as she rose to a size 14. However, she is now a trim size 8 and although she says she has “never been secure about her body”, she admits she wouldn’t be “without curves- there should still be things that wobble”. So girls, don’t worry, those wobbly bits are still gorgeous!

Suzanne is now married to DJ Jason King but says shes “terrified of the kissing scenes in front of so many people!” Her DJing husband isn’t too worried though as he says he will get to see his TV star wife a lot more as he presents his radio show up in Leeds.

The British role model has been in a severe decline, it was revealed yesterday.

A massive 67% of people considered John Terry and Tiger Woods as perfect public figures before their recent alleged scandals were revealed.

Now, a staggering 86% of Brits regard them as terrible role models for the younger generation.

Another 76% of Brits polled felt that high profile divorces/separations represented bad examples of the morals of marriage and family values. High profile cheating allegations are dissolving the traditions of trust and faithfulness.

For younger Britons, being exposed to a quick divorce in the public limelight conceals the large financial reality of ending a marriage through British courts. The average cost of ending a marriage is around £13,000.

The poll of over 1000 people across the UK, conducted by online quiz site triviala.com revealed over 90% people believe too much emphasis is put on the wrong type of celebrities such as the likes of Pete Doherty, Kate Moss and Amy Winehouse are more often than not in the limelight for the wrong reasons.

83% of people thought Reality TV stars shouldn’t be considered celebrities.

In addition to this, 89% of the public showed their frustration that these individuals were becoming famous due to their likeability factors rather than having actual talent to inspire the younger generation with.

An astonishing 93% of people polled believed today’s celebrities are encouraging young people to succeed via quick wins instead of forging long-term careers.

An additional 91% of adults surveyed believe the younger society are unaware of the real pressures of fame and success which often lead to either breakdowns, bankruptcy or substance abuse.

A surprising 90% stated that their perceptions of MPs being bad role models didn’t change regardless of the recent expense scandal. Its interesting to discover these hugely influential individuals are seen as such bad figures in our society.

Supposed role models don’t realise their importance and influential power they have on the younger generation including fans, youth and the general public. They become inconsiderate of how much they are valued and looked up to for direction and aspirations.

As a nation, it is collectively our duty to set the correct example to ensure our younger members of society can decipher right from wrong and keep traditional British values alive.

As the Oscars are nearly upon us, this Sunday is sure to be the biggest event of the year. And lucky Brit actress Carey Mulligan who has been nominated for the  Best Actress award is happy for another reason at the moment… her Transformers star boyfriend Shia LaBeouf.

“An Education” starlet Mulligan met the action hero on the set of their new film “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” last August and it seems the couple have been well and truly loved up ever since.

LaBeouf has been linked to co star Megan Fox and singer Rihanna but it seems he may have now found himself a talented English rose to call his girlfriend. Lets hope he escorts her down the red carpet on Sunday as to make their first public appearance together.

Michael Douglas who also stars in the follow up to the 1987 Wall Street classic, warned the both of them about the dangers of off screen relationships but also made  it clear that they are perfect for each other. He said: “I warned them, “Don’t ever do that”, but they are an item and they are having a great time.”

Well we have our fingers crossed for the sensational actress and after winning the BAFTA for the same award, we hope it’s in the bag!

After the terrible earthquake that hit Haiti recently, Simon Cowell will be pulling in numerous A list singers to record a charity single to raise money to help Haiti victims.

The charity single will be a cover of REM’s song “Everybody Hurts” and Cowell is in talks with various artists to try and get as many stars involved as possible. Although the final line up has not been revealed, it is rumoured Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney and Robbie Williams will be asked. Simon will also be hoping to get Take That and Susan Boyle involved but has already signed up both Cheryl Cole and Leona Lewis.

Lewis said: You can definitely count me in. What’s happened is absolutely heartbreaking and I really hope everyone pulls together to help”.

Stars over the pond have also been major players in raising money for the people of Haiti with U2 and Jay Z already recording their own charity singles.  Lionel Richie is also preparing to be joined by other stars to cover Michael Jackson’s classic song “We are the Wolrd”.

In America, over 100 celebrities too part in a ‘Hope for Haiti’ Telethon and raised over £35 million to go to the Haiti relief. The telthon was set up by George Clooney with celebrities such as Cameron Diaz, Zac Efron, Sasha Baron Cohen and Reese Witherspoon picking up the phone to donators. The telethon was televisied on MTV and people saw the likes of Madonna, Justin Timberlake and Rihanna performing. Users can download all the songs performed and all donations will go straight to the earthquake relief charities.
